Fellini’s Oscar-nominated 8 ½ is a masterpiece of storytelling and cinema which was adapted by Director Rob Marshall for his recently released musical Nine. The most autobiographical of Fellini’s films it follows a 43 yr-old director who is having a midlife crisis and is struggling with Freudian complexes about his wife, his lover, his ideal woman and his dead parents. Beautifully choreographed with flashbacks, dream sequences, exaggerated fantasy scenes, and magical surrealist episodes, 8 ½ is one of the richest, most exuberant films ever made.
